About Emma
Focused on 3 C's
Civic Engagement / Creative Communications / Community Empowerment
Creatively promoting civic engagement and fostering community empowerment through 1) leading local election-focused public outreach and education efforts and 2) conducting elections participation research to support voter success as Pierce County Elections' Voter Outreach and Engagement Specialist.
In all I do, I prioritize genuine relationship building and embracing human diversity to respect and uplift every individual's innate personhood, autonomy, lived experience, and dignity.
Because I want everyone's voice to be heard in both social and government decision-making, I take particular interest in both protecting and promoting human and civil rights.

Under the Big Top Community Resource Fair
Career-wise, I'm currently serving the public in a non-partisan capacity with Pierce County Elections Division. As an elections administrator, my overall role is to increase public interest in, knowledge of, and accessibility to our vote-by-mail system by everyone but particularly our historically low-turnout demographics. I use my background in political science and communications to research and apply best practices to outreach projects.

You'll either find me out and about giving presentations at public meetings, heading information booths at resource fairs, or hard at work at the elections office strategizing new ways to meaningfully connect with our voters. If you see me, come say hello!
Recognitions
The WA Office of the Secretary of State has given me a few recent shout-outs in the statewide election officials newsletter for collaborations I've spearheaded with my elections outreach counterparts at the state level.
